Course Introduction:
The course discusses the environmental management issues pertaining to the rural and urban areas. It establishes the importance of environmental management system, environmental planning and challenges for development.
The Master of Science in Renewable Energy and Environment program provides in-depth knowledge of all major renewable energy sources along with the conversion process and their applications gives the opportunity to specialize in various areas. The core modules in advanced technology concepts and methods as well as in the production and utilization of sustainable energy give learner the opportunity in research, industry and as an entrepreneur as well. Focus of the course is to equip the learners with technologies, economics and policy involving energy systems Detailed expertise will be offered in Solar Energy Systems involving photovoltaic as well as Thermal Energy Systems, Wind Energy, Biomass, Geothermal, Tidal and Wave energy, Hydrogen & Fuel cells etc along with the energy conversion and conservation techniques. This 66 credit multidisciplinary program will be modular in nature with an exit option as PG Diploma in Renewable Energy and Environment after completion of first year (34 credits).

The course corelates the environemtal conditions with the soiety. It discusses the mutual interependence between society and its impact on environment.
Environmental Management is growing need of today in the wake of rising environemntal challenges. The Course deals with the Environmental Management practices , Corporate Social Responsibility and the Environmental Imformation System has been explained in the course.
