Introduction

Master of Arts (Environmental Studies) MAEVS is a step in the direction to make a meaningful contribution towards the implementation of National Education Policy 2020. The programme with a multidisciplinary and an interdisciplinary approach aims to generate awareness on a wide variety

of environmental concerns. The Programme is offered with Modular Approach. After completing the first year (courses) of study you will be eligible to receive Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Studies. The Programme will have lateral Entry and Exit. After completing the Programme, you will be able to play decisive roles in addressing the environmental and sustainability concerns in India and across the world. It will help the you to restore, protect, and sustain the environment and appreciate the interdependence between the components of the environment.

To capacitate the learners in the field of environment protection and sustainable development.

Course Title:	Climate Change Assessment Tools

Course Introduction:	Various generations of biofuels, along with its potential and limitations and potential of industrial sector in climate change mitigation and the need for promoting climate resilient industry are discussed. An effort has also been made to discuss the ways to strengthen the public institutions; and resilient health service infrastructure. Block 4 of the course deals with the transport systems, and strategies for automotive energy efficiency. It also covers the human health and public health perspectives on climate change and public health actions to address climate change. Basics of energy intensive buildings and energy efficient buildings, green buildings to conserve the energy and thereby reducing the greenhouse gases and climate change are also discussed. The inter-linkages between waste management and climate change and various technologies for mitigation of greenhouse gases from the waste sector are also covered extensively in the last block.
