This Course MNM-011 - UNDERSTANDING DIGITAL MEDIA is designed to orient learners in four broad areas - the relationship between digital media and society, the significance of social media, tracing experiences of the Internet in the Indian context and the application side of the digital media. The whole course is divided into four Blocks. The 16 Units in this Course cover the main concepts of new media and social media, as well as the experiences and application side of the digital media.

Other than this, there are three more blocks, one of which focuses on techniques of reporting and the necessary skills that go into making a credible, holistic, professional and balanced news report tastefully in a modern, technocratic news media world. The other two blocks focus on different beats of reporting, enumerating in detail what kind of specialisation a budding journalist needs to build to cover a particular beat.

Digital Photography and Videography are important areas of electronic media. As a student of electronic media, and as a future practitioner, academician or researcher in this field, it is essential that you are exposed to these areas. The course MNM 003 Digital Photography & Videography has been developed in a systematic way so that you can understand the basics of visual communication, structure and functioning of cameras, composition, lighting, and editing in a systematic manner. It has been presented in three blocks comprising 14 units, covering a range of issues in digital photography and videography.

The Course MJM 023Broadcast & Online Journalism has been developed as foundationalcourse in a systematic way to take you through the step by step process of news production for radio, television and online media. It is presented in three blocks comprising 15 units covering a range of issues in news production for radio, television and online platforms

The Course MJM-025 Media Ethics and Laws, as the title suggests, deals with two important areas - ethics and laws, which every student of mass communication should be thoroughly familiar with. Spread over four blocks, the course explains that every aspect of media profession – Journalism, Advertising, and Public Relations operate within certain legal framework and involve some ethical conduct on the part of media professionals.

This course has four blocks and 18 units, and it is the MNM031 Internet Research Methods of MA in Journalism and Digital Media programme.

This particular awareness is the outcome of being media literate. This course, Media and Information Literacy (MIL), is meant to give you the required learning to understand all the dimensions of the media and communication system needed to acquire skills and competencies of media literacy.

MNM036 Digital Media Literacy (DML) is an extension of our earlier course, MNM35 Media and Information Literacy (MIL). In MIL, we discussed media and information systems' exploring, engaging, and empowering dimensions, which help us understand how to access media, critically analyse media contents, and responsibly participate in society-wide communication. As an extension of the MIL course, this course will examine the application side of media literacy, especially in the context of digital communication platforms. There are four Blocks and 16 Units in this course, through which you will understand the dynamic interactive platform.
