In today’s scenarios importance of security is well known to every citizen hence in order to maintain the protection and security of campus property and persons the Security Department has been functioning since inception of IGNOU especially when the University moved in the campus at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi from various hired locations. Since then the Security Department is performing duties on 24 x 7 x 365 days in a year. Hence, it is the only department in the University which works round the clock to serve the University community to the best and promptly. Its operations and management is being discharged and coordinated by the Security Officer.
